Inka's exclusive UpScale uniforms will grow with your child.
Many of the garments manufactured by Inka's incorporate a unique UpScale feature which
allows you to actually increase the size of the garment using only scissors or a seam ripper.
We make this possible by sewing in double seams with generous extra fabric. By ripping out
the innermost seam, the garment grows.
Skort
On most of our skorts, you can let out the vertical seams on both sides of the garment, so that it expands in width. You can let out both seams at once if need be, but you can enlarge the garment more gradually by letting out just one side first, then letting out the other side later as needed. (Some larger-sized skorts have a side zipper, which allows only one side to be let out.)
Turn the garment inside out. Tug at the top of one of the vertical side seams that is hidden under the waistband until it becomes visible all the way to the top of the garment. On this double seam, locate the seam farthest from the edge of the fabric (in other words, the innermost side seam). With a seam ripper, carefully rip out this line of stitching from the top of the waistband all the way down until the seam tapers off at the hem. If necessary, repeat on the other side of the garment.
Jumper
Turn the jumper inside out. On one side of the jumper, locate the horizontal stitch at the bottom of the arm hole that holds the extra fabric flat against the garment. With a seam ripper carefully rip out this stitch. The side of the jumper is sewn with a double seam; locate the seam which is farthest from the edge of the fabric (in other words, the innermost side seam). Rip out this line of stitching from the bottom of the arm hole all the way down until the seam tapers off at the hem. If the garment has a pocket, simply stop ripping at the top of the pocket. Repeat this process on the other side of the garment.
Shorts, Skirts, Pants
Turn the garment inside out. On one side of the garment, locate the two horizontal stitches at the top and bottom of the waistband that hold the extra fabric flat against the garment. With a seam ripper, carefully rip out these stitches. The side of the garment is sewn with a double seam; locate the seam which is farthest from the edge of the fabric (in other words, the innermost side seam). Rip out this line of stitching from the top of the waistband all the way down until the seam tapers off at the hem. Repeat this process on the other side of the garment. (Note: On pants and shorts, you can let out just one side of the garment at a time for a more gradual enlargement.)
