Position: Store Manager (Baton Rouge)
Classification: Salaried

Reports to: District manager

Status: Full-time

Job Purpose:
Responsibilities include managing sales and operations, controlling expenses, handling personnel issues, merchandising, and loss prevention. Store Manager is also ultimately responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service throughout the store. A Store Manager is a role model and leader and must solve problems, make informed decisions and manage time and the workforce wisely in order to achieve maximum results.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Coordinate visits with school administrators, and attend school meetings and events.
2. Ensure that all customers are greeted in a prompt and friendly manner.
3. Ensure that all customer phone calls are handled in a courteous and helpful manner.
4. Inform customers of advertised and promotional events to increase sales volume.
5. Oversee the preparation of merchandise placement and displays.
6. Ensure the smooth operations throughout the store including sales floor, logo station, and drive-through window. Support any work area when needed.
7. Perform as a cashier as needed.
8. Handle customer service issues.
9. Recruit, interview, screen, and hire summer workers.
10. Conduct orientation, train, coach, and manage associates in execution of daily tasks.
11. Ensure that all associates are provided with merchandise information and effective salesmanship techniques.
12. Delegate tasks to associates based on their workloads and skills.
13. Coordinate associates' weekly work schedule.
14. Review associates' time sheets for accuracy, scan, and email to designated personnel.
15. Complete and administer all associate performance evaluations.
16. Address poor performance and administer the counseling process as necessary.
17. Direct and ensure timely sales event set-up (i.e. in-store sales and road sales).
18. Oversee merchandise stock keeping and ensure first-in first-out practices.
19. Ensure proper maintenance of store equipment and property.
20. Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards.
21. Lead by example.
22. Ensure that proper channels of communication exist between Harahan store and Baton Rouge store/headquarters.
23. Help solve problems that affect the store's service, efficiency, and productivity.
24. Provide and inspire outstanding service to customers.
25. Any other tasks as assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:
Technical
1. Retail management experience preferred.
2. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
3. Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), organization, and follow-through skills.
4. Excellent team player, with ability to work independently.
5. Ability to manage projects and delegate.
6. Availability to travel, as needed.
7. Ability to maintain a fair, consistent set of standards as they apply to work force.
8. Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely.
9. Ability to listen attentively to others, to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner, to understand material, and to provide instructions to all employees.
Physical
1. Willingness to work a full-time schedule, including occasional nights, weekends, and holidays.
2. Willingness and ability to travel when necessary (i.e. road sale.)
3. Ability to lift and carry merchandise up to 20 lbs.
